Last week, information was provided about the very important work of The Ottawa Mission – providing approximately 18,000 turkey dinners and approximately 12,000 food truck meals annually, to our neighbours in need.

The “Turkeys & Trucks” project sponsored by your Outreach Ministries Committee will provide financial support to The Ottawa Mission for these two very important services.

As of the first Sunday of Advent, November 30th you will be able to purchase a turkey (or a whole flock of turkeys!!) AND/OR a truck (or a whole fleet of trucks!!) for $5.00 each.  The Committee will hang the turkeys and trucks from garland in the sanctuary, to celebrate the kindness and generosity of our congregation!  The turkeys and trucks will be available for purchase up to and including December 24th, 2025.

In addition to the above, with the cold weather setting in and Christmas around the corner, you are invited to once again THINK WARM!! Our large CHRISTMAS STOCKING will be placed at the front of the sanctuary to receive donations of knitted items: socks, hats, scarves or mittens. Any socks donated will be directed to The Ottawa Mission Food Truck Project as socks are handed out with each food truck meal.  Other items may be directed to the West Carleton Food Access Centre.  December 21st will be the cut off date for knitted contributions so that we can make our delivery before Christmas.

We thank you in advance for your donations and for the caring that these donations will demonstrate to our neighbours who find themselves in need at this time of year.  We can be a beacon of light in their darkness!!
