Our Mission:
The mission of St. Paul’s and Dunrobin United Church is to serve God joyfully by bearing witness to the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. We aim to foster a faith community that welcomes all individuals and nurtures their spiritual growth and development, in the hope that each person may deepen their faith and strengthen their commitment to Jesus Christ. Our ultimate goal is to empower individuals to become unique and purposeful creations that God intends them to be, reflecting His love and grace in their lives and in the world around them.
Our Vision:
To grow our church communities by deepening our faith in God, supporting those in need, and strengthening community relationships. We will accomplish our vision by:
1. Expanding our faith in God, through worship, our witness to Jesus Christ, education, and Christian fellowship.
2. Supporting those in need, by raising awareness about issues within and outside our pastoral charge and finding ways to serve and strengthen individuals in our local, regional, national, and global communities.
3. Strengthening community relationships, by collaborating with community agencies that support those in need. We aim to reach out to individuals through Pastoral Care and explore opportunities to increase involvement and decrease social isolation among community members. This collaboration will include working with other United Church congregations and churches of different denominations in the area.

A New Creed
‘A New Creed’ is a brief and well-loved affirmation of faith used widely in our worship (1968; rev. 1980, 1995).
We are not alone,
we live in God’s world.
We believe in God:
who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus,
the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others
by the Spirit.
We trust in God.
We are called to be the Church:
to celebrate God’s presence,
to live with respect in Creation,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.

Pastoral Care Team
The pastoral care provided by Carp-Dunrobin Pastoral Charge plays a crucial role in fostering a sense of community, support, and spiritual well-being among its members. This care is centered on the belief that everyone is deserving of love, understanding, and guidance, regardless of their life circumstances. Pastoral care includes offering emotional support, counseling, and spiritual guidance, helping individuals navigate the complexities of life while finding comfort and meaning within their faith.
By addressing both the spiritual and practical needs of its congregants, the Church fosters a holistic approach to well-being. The Pastoral Care Team has enacted a buddy system to keep in touch with those who may not be able to get out as much as they might like. A friendly phone call or a card to say someone is thinking about them can brighten the day. The Team may co-ordinate a roster for the preparation and delivery of meals when there is a short-term need, arrange a drive to appointments, and assist with other needs that may arise. Christmas is a special time to acknowledge those who are facing challenges, with a visit or a card.
In addition to its impact on individuals and the community, pastoral care fosters deep connections among congregants and contributes to a resilient and engaged faith community. Pastoral care is a vital component of our ministry, embodying the Church's values of compassion, inclusivity, and service.

The History of St. Paul’s United Church – 1824-2024
In the years prior to 1824, there were primarily three religious groups in Huntley Township – Anglican, Presbyterian and Methodists. Amongst these early Irish settlers were several Methodist families, including three local preachers and class leaders, Thomas Shillington, George Argue and Hugh Ronan. They conducted Methodist services periodically at different private residences.
In the years 1824 to 1850, Huntley Methodists were served by Methodist ministers from the Richmond circuit. However, most of the services were conducted by local Huntley Methodist preachers and held in private residences. In the next 50 years several Methodist churches were built throughout Huntley Township, including a church on the present site of St. Paul’s United Church.
The early 1900’s brought about the building of a new Methodist church in Carp, a congregation name change to St. Paul’s United and the merging of St. Paul’s United and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian congregations.
