Rev. Debbie Roi

Debbie came to this pastoral charge in October 2016, having most recently served in ministry at Parkdale United Church as the Pastoral Care Minister. Debbie brings with her 9 years of experience in ministry, having also served in the Pakenham Pastoral Charge and covered an appointment position at Trinity St. Andrew's in Renfrew.

Debbie lives in Almonte with her husband John, and her four legged friends. Her 3 adults children live in the surrounding area and debbite is looking forward to being a grandmother in 2017.

Before responding to a call to ministry, Debbie enjoyed a career in occupational therapy. This career allowed her to work in a variety of settings including, General Hospitals in Orillia, Peterborough and Ottawa, the Oak Ridge Facility in Penetanguishene, and she worked with the Home Care Program. This was a fulfilling vocation however the call to ministry persisted, and so Debbie began her Masters of Divinity Program in 2003 at Queens Theological College.

While at Queens Debbie had an opportunity to participate in a trip to Nicaragua where she met with our partners supposed by our Mission and Service Fund. This was a trip she will never forget and one that she hopes to someday make again.

Debbie is delighted to be back in a small town and looks forward to sharing in the joy of ministry in both Carp and Dunrobin.

Rev. Eileen Hepplewhite & Rev. Neil Wallace (Voluntary Associates)

Eileen comes to us in retirement. She started her career as an elementary school teacher in the UK. Arriving in Canada in 1976 with her husband and daughter. Another daughter was born in 1978. She was ordained in the UCC in 1990, serving in Manotick for two years, Central Lanark for eight years and Kanata for ten years. She retired in 2010, and settled in Carp as a Voluntary Associate.

Neil grew up in Ottawa and graduated from Carleton and then McGill University. He was ordained in 1977 and served congregations in the Provice of Quebec before returning to Ottawa to be on the team ministry at City View United Church. Neil was at City View for 16 years and retired from full-time ministry last year. He is married to Shirley and they have three children, all residing in Ottawa.

Gabriel Tam-Poudrier

Our Music Director Gabriel holds an Honours Bachelor of Music in Theory and Composition from the University of Western Ontario. He was studied composition with notable professors such as Dr. Peter Paul Koprowski and Dr. Omar Daniel. He has compoased many works for chamber groups and soloists. Having transfered from a performance degree, Gabriel in an active performer, playing in solo recitals, guest masterclasses and accompanying many of his colleagues. He has received piano training under the tutelage of Ryan Pehlps and his current teacher at Western, Tina Yanchus. His piano training includes lessons with a large number of notable piansists including, Ian Parker, Michel Fournier, Peter Longworth, Ron Turini, and some others.

As a performer, Gabriel has participated in countless music festivals often placing top in his category. On two occasions he has participated at the provincial level, receiving honourable mentions. He has been invited many times to perform for showcases or to open for public concerts. In the past he has been an active member of ensembles such as wind band, choir, or performing his own work in ensembles.

Throughout all of his schooling Gabriel has received many awards of academic excellence and consistently placed on the dean's honour list. His schooling at Western University also encompasses an extended training in music theory. Gabriel currently resides in Gatineau⁄Ottawa where he teaches privately, works under the Ryan Phelps Institute of Advanced Musical Studies, and continues to compose.

Christine Belleville, Office Administrator

Christine has 31 years experience in the Federal Government, primarily in finance and administration, and human resources, recruitment. After retiring from the government she worked for three yeras at Collab Space in leasing and financial management. Christine can be reached at the church every Wednesday and Thursday between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
